Maintaining the Balance

We take responsibility in sourcing tobacco from the farmers by addressing sound agricultural practices and protecting the environment. We consider STP as a self-assessment tool and strive to implement them at every possible step.

Compliance with laws & Regulations:

The tobacco board under ministry of commerce & industry sets out stringent rules in line with international rules by which a trader shall comply.

Farmer profitability:

The tobacco board always acts in protecting the interest of the farmers by fixing a minimum rate in favor of the farmer and by avoiding unhealthy competition amongst traders.

Environment:

To reduce the import of tobacco production on the environment, KKME has opted to plant atleast 2500 plants annually that are native to the region prior to the monsoon season and adopted as a company policy in an effort towards afforestation and encourage the use of propane as the fuel for the barn instead of firewood.

Illegal Trade:

The tobacco band sets out limitations on the crop size and does not allow the product enter the action premises if the production is exceeded. KKME does not tolerate the illegal trade in any way.

Child labor:

Child labor is prohibited not because its the law but because its INHUMANE and not tolerated at KKME.

Women Empowerment:

At KKME, women comprises majority of the workforce. We ensure proper training & appraisal programmes are being conducted.
